Trying to help a friend determine fair pay for Church IT in his area

I have a friend that has been charged with staffing IT at a church with about 120 staff in the South Eastern part of the US. He is stuck on what is appropriate to offer as a salary range for this position. I seem to remember there being a survey we take occasionally at the Church IT Network national events to provide these type of statistics, but I can’t remember who put it on.

If anyone could point me in the direction of the findings of this survey, that would be super helpful.

The 2014 survey doesn’t have average salary per position. There is a list of positions from respondents, with about 65% being an IT Manager or IT Director. Below is part of the base salary averages:

$50,000 - $54,999,11,20.0%
$55,000 - $59,999,7,12.7%
$60,000 - $64,999,7,12.7%
$65,000 - $69,999,2,3.6%
$70,000 - $74,999,4,7.3%

Average salary was $53,700 with 77 responses does that help? I can email it also if needed

I don’t know if he still does but my XP once signed up for a membership with https://www.ministrypay.com which has extremely comprehensive salary survey of hundreds of churches across a wide range of positions.

Job Code: MC435 in the Ministry Pay system is for “Information Technology Specialist/Director” which is probably close to what your friend is looking for.
